Uh-oh, if you arent position 1 in front of the Apple Store, then the guy is probably a scalper. I think it's mostly mall employees lined up inside right now. I managed to get in with a hopeful mall employee just before 5am.

They're very nice and I love the look, but a little too expensive maybe soon if I can justify the purchase.
I think the price has to do with it being not just hand made in general, but also hand stitched. They were telling me that hand stitching is stronger and easier to repair over what any machine can do, but takes a lot longer to do. They're really down to earth folks. Just a younger couple trying to make a living at a trade.

Just FYI.
The "private" beta that's being circulated is a very old beta in the development stage. VMware has big plans, and is working closely with Apple to have a true Mac look and feel.
Things VMware Final version will do:
Be 100% Free
Support Adjusting how many processors you use.
64bit support and optimization
Drag and drop into the VM window (just try dragging a file off your desktop into the VM now)
***And full support to use your bootcamp volume. So you don't have to have two disks anymore or one for Virtual Machine, and another for bootcamp with full video accelerations. You can just run your bootcamp volume right inside of VMware for those times when you don't want to reboot, and just need to do work. That way you only have one copy of windows on your machine! No VM needed!
**Support for "Virtual Appliances" which VMware has a bunch of on their site. Thousands of companies make ready-made Virtual Machines, that you can download and run in VMware, such as a lamp server, special build of RedHat, or a Ubuntu for graphics, or a mail server, or anything you can imagine, there are over 100,000 Virtual Appliances available on the VMware site, and you can create your own "Virtual Appliance" and share it with your friends!

this sounds like a bunch of bull, the iphone 4 is complete great the way it is. Why degrade it?
Agreed. iPhone 4 "feels" perfect in my hands. I hope they leave it nearly as-is and simply throw in the A5 and maybe a better camera. EDIT: And 64GB!
That said, we know a radical redesign is imminent. It's either iPhone 5 or 6. I guess we'll see.

For the 5 years or so of owning a Mac, I have not come across any breach of security by attacks from viruses from the Internet. Some safe guards to use firewall with a router, limiting ports, and so forth are pretty basic. I've had good luck using a very strong password with a combination of alphanumeric characters and underscores. Although one time, I connected onto an outside network and when I went to browse inside my secret porn folder, I found a pic that wasn't mine. Someone must've copied it into my hidden folder and labeled it myfav.jpg. Very odd, but that was the only time its ever happened.
Most of these Mac attacks seem to be more predominant with social engineering hacks and user error, than comprised code.

I am a VS2005 c# developer (Compact Framework) and in the process of switching to Mac.
I am currently working exclusivly on a Dell PC, and toying with the idea of throwing away that ugly piece of plastic, and getting a shiny new mac book pro.
Now here is the thing : how do i keep the great performance i currently have on my Dell ? (bootcamp is out of the question since I do not want to keep booting my machine to check emails etc...)
Will VMWare cut it ? I head some discussion on the poor performace Parallels has when it comes to disk access (compiling is disk intensive).
Any thoughts ? did any one here try it ?
I've been doing full time C# development on Intel Macs (iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro) for about 6 months now. I use Parallels (only because vmware is not available yet) and have no performance problems. Visual studio is not graphically intensive, which is probably the only area where virtual environments suffer these days.
There are a few quirks that you'll have to work around, such as the F9-F12 keys being mapped in OS X, so if you use these keys for debugging then you'll probably want to remap them, but that's not a big deal, but generally the experience is very good. And of course you can tab between Windows and OS X so that you can have your email and other stuff where it works best and only development stuff in Windows.

Anyone else notice the window shadows are still visible in the Expose/Spaces screenshot. Windows shadows disappear when you invoke Expose in Tiger. Maybe this is power of Core Animation starting to show?
I think Apple have something quite amazing happening with the Finder interface in Leopard which is now possible with the introduction of Core Animation.

Just updated�Now having a problem with people hearing me. If i use speaker phone they can hear me just fine. I have done a voice memo, and it sounds like I'm being recorded at half volume. Anyone else having this problem :mad:

Do some research on what tall buildings do to cell towers/signal and the ability for your phone to handle constant hand-offs between thousands of towers. Trust me, sky scrapers make it impossible for Verizons, T-mobile, or any other carriers service to be much better than the rest. The other carriers are just better about hiding their shortcomings from the public.

Apple has great products, but we are going to be experiencing more than a recession. Donald Trump stated that what was going to happen in North America is going to make Russia look like a picnic during world war 2. The CEO of Wall-Street stated two years ago that there will be a world economic crash worse than what happened during the 1930's due to the amount of debt. The European Union Banks stated 1.5 years ago that they were preparing their banks for a world economic collapse. Unfortunately most of us are living the status quo and do not want to acknowledge that our way of life is going to drastically change. Unfortunately even a company as great as Apple will not be able to retain the level of what the stocks are worth even at todays low. My advice is pay of your debts... sell your stocks while you still have money, sell your home and then when the collapse occurs then invest.

Apple not releasing a new IPHONE in June would really pull the stock into the garbage. It would be hard to make up that lost revenue for the quarter.
You assume that there would be lost revenue. Or rather lost stock value. A lot of that issue could depend on what is announced for iOS, Mac OS, the whole Final Cut game etc. Not to mention ipad sales for the quarter and if they release any new computers, those sales numbers. The buzz from all that could be enough to carry the stock value.
And who knows they could announced in late june but with a 60ish day to launch. And if the phone was 'magical' enough no one would really take issue with the wait.

So far, Leopard is something I'm not willing to pay for.
I expected just a little bit of a UI change, it just looks like a little updated version of Tiger.
I really wonder what these top secret features are because the current features aren't impressing me enough to open my wallet.
Ergh, you do realise this is a Developer's Preview? A BETA version ie. not finished, not anywhere near finished, feature-incomplete, "for testing only" version of Leopard don't you?
Tiger (especially Dashboard) changed beyond recognition between it's sneak peek and release.

I don't know if this is relevant but the shipping on the basic models say 24 hours but when I select the quad i7 option the shipping extends to 3 days.. When I selected the quad i7 option last night it said shipping only 2 days.. so it has changed by + 1 day :confused::rolleyes:
