Patrick Dempsey Leaving 'Grey's Anatomy'?
"Grey's Anatomy" rose to fame off the backs of a cast of ingénue actresses and hunky doctors, but one of the top brass at Seattle Grace might be heading off to other pastures.
Patrick Dempsey has admitted that his future on "Grey's Anatomy" after the 2011-2012 season finishes is uncertain.
"It will be my last one," Patrick was quoted as saying in the new issue of Italian Vanity Fair, referring to the upcoming Season 8.
The actor reportedly said he is unaware what will happen with the other characters.
"But for me, it's over," he reportedly added.
Patrick said the thought of leaving was "bittersweet," as "Grey's" has been a big "part of my life."

While reports that Patrick was definitely leaving the show took off like a wildfire on the web on Monday, when contacted by Access Hollywood , a rep for the actor put his quotes in another context.
"He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds," the rep said in a statement to Access Hollywood.
"It might be the last hurrah for a lot of them; you never know," she said. "I really don't know and I don't presume to know. Everybody has an individual choice to make and I get that... All the originals are in play."
It does appear, however, that Patrick may officially be done with at least one business venture.
"No more romantic comedies," he told the mag. "That's for sure."
One place Patrick does see his future is action films.
He'll next be seen on the big screen this summer in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," which is due out on June 29.
