Konkona Sen Sharma had remained down to earth.

Konkona Sen Sharma, one of the successful actresses of bollywood had remained down to earth. Recently she had given interview in Zee Bangla in a program held on 26th June, 2010, which was anchored by director Anurag Basu. She was born on 3rd December, 1979, in Kolkata.

Paresh Rawal was brilliant in Atithi Tum Kab Jayoge.

Paresh Rawal was brilliant in Atithi Tum Kab Jayoge.

The film Atithi Tum Kab Jayoge, does not have anything new other than the brilliant performance of Paresh Rawal. There has been a mindset of most of the directors these days that the moment they make a comedy film it will automatically be hit. There is no basis of this mindset. If in 2009, All The Best did great business, Do Not Disturb and De Dana Dan flopped.

Ashwni Dhar had been the director of the film. He had cast Ajay Devgan, Konkona Sen Sharma and Paresh Rawal in the main roles. Warner Brother Pictures and Wide Frame Films had produced the film. In this film Ajay Devgan and Konkona Sen Sharma had a peaceful family.

But the appearance of Paresh Rawal in their house created the maximum amount of displeasure. He mentioned that he was a distant relative of the family and come from village. But the period of time for which promised to stay passed away. He never decided to leave the house.

He created annoyance of every type for the family. Ajay Devgan and Konkona Sen Sharma had tried every type of ploy to compel Paresh Rawal to leave the house. But he was adamant enough to act on their ploy. The character artists like Ritesh Deshmukh, Sanjay Mishra, Pradeep Rawat, Satish Kaushik did well in their respective roles.

The music had been composed by Pritam. The song “dohe” sung by Amit Misra and “aaja aaja” sung by Pritam had been popular. The other song “joti jalaile” sung by Vishal Bharatdwaj was not bad. But the film does not have the masala with which viewers can be drawn in to the cinema halls or persuaded to sit in the halls for three hours.

The acting of Paresh Rawal and Konkona Sen Sharma had been fine. The best part of Paresh Rawal lied in asking Viju Khote during a film shooting to repeat his dialogue of Sholay titled “kitne aadmi the”. He got fed up saying do. The simplicity of Paresh Rawal in the respective role made people laugh. Ultimately the set that was created in the shooting site was destroyed because the director asked them to blast it when he said two and Viju Khote said do.

The film did mediocre business in 2010 and it was more than enough for the director and producer.

Irfan Khan was brilliant in Right Yaa Wrong.

Irfan Khan was brilliant in Right Yaa Wrong.

Irfan Khan was brilliant in the film Right Yaa Wrong. He played the role of the friend of Sunny Deol who had worked in police force for a long time with him.

Sunny Deol’s wife Isha Koppikar had an affair with another person known to Sunny Deol. When Sunny Deol’s leg got injured after bullets entered the lower part of his body, he had to walk on wheelchair. He recovered and started walking.

But when he saw his wife in bed with an adulterer he could not resist himself. He made a cold-blooded plan to kill his wife and the adulterer. He asked them to shoot him with a gun having false bullets. When his wife and the adulterer failed to kill him, he shot both of them and killed them. But there was no evidence to prove that Sunny was guilty.

Irfan Khan did the difficult job of finding clues in the case. He proved that Sunny could walk, because the bullet that killed Isha Koppikar was shot from parallel direction, absolutely straight. For doing that the killer required to stand up. It was not possible to kill Isha Koppikar by firing from the wheel chair, as she was standing at the time of being killed. Sunny explained before the enquiry commission that he threw a hard substance at his wife. She bend down to avoid being hit and Sunny fired her even after sitting in a wheel chair, parallel, at straight angle.

Irfan Khan was right, but he was proved wrong. In the Court of law, Konkona Sen Sharma, the defense counsel tried to prove that Irfan Khan was jealous about Sunny and falsely implicated him. Irfan Khan said Sunny was ill-tempered. Konkona Sen Sharma proved that if he was ill-tempered then he could not have committed the murder, because it was done in a cool manner.

At the end of the film, Sunny wrote in a letter to irfan Khan before boarding in a flight, that he was guilty. Even the lie-detector test could not prove it. He did it to save his little son’s life who was motherless.

Irfan Khan expressed his frustration very well. His acting had reflections of actors of parallel cinema. The film should be watched by viewers.

Right Yaaa Wrong will do good business.

Right Yaaa Wrong will do good business.

Then film Right Yaaa Wrong will do good business. The film had been directed by Neeraj Pathak and produced by both Neeraj Pathak and Krishan Choudhury.

The film was related to the rivalry of two police officers played by Sunny Deol and Irfaan Khan. Isha Kopikaar, the wife of Sunny Deol had been brutally murdered in the film according to the story. Sunny Deol was suspected for the commission of murder upon his wife. Although his sister Konkona Sen Sharma supported him and did not feel that he had murder his wife, Irfaan Khan, the prime investigator in the case got a scope of gathering evidence to prove the charge against Sunny Deol.

During his successful career, Sunny Deol was so busy with encounters with the underworld, that he hardly realized that his beautiful wife Isha Koppikar had extra-marital affair with other person. When his lower part of the body became paralyzed, he asked his family members to kill him.

The film had a lot of resemblance with the film Above Suspicion where Christopher Reeve and William H. Macy played notable roles. As far as the story is concerned it is very innovative and full of twists.

But in that respect the script was not as sharp if compared with the scripts of directors of suspense thrillers like Vijay Anand, Abbas Mastan, etc. Sunny Deol did well in his role. Isha Koppikar did a great job in a short role. A lot of critics had mentioned that had Isha Koppikar not got type cast the image of ‘khalas girl’ at the beginning of her career, she was a great asset for the industry. She requires to play more number of positive characters in future.

Irfan Khan was brilliant. He again had made acting looking very easy. Konkona Sen Sharma also was effortless in her role. The music of the film composed by Monty Sharma had been very average. Ofcourse music never played any premier role in the film. But the viewers should be happy with the story line and for that reason the film should be good business.

Atithi Tum Kab Jayoge has nothing new.

The acting of Paresh Rawal, Konkona Sen Sharma and Paresh Rawal had been fine. But if the script does not help the actors to that extent, the comedy punch at times become boring.

If the film does mediocre business it is more than enough for the director and producer.

Wake Up Sid will do average business.

Wake Up Sid will do average business.

The film Wake up Sid is destined to do average business. Ayaan Mukherjee, the director of the film experimented on a very dry subject. Karan Johar had produced the film and the film had been shot in sensible locations.

Ranbir Kapoor had been shown as a very lazy person who never had any goal in life. His father Anupam Kher got irritated about his carefree life. His mother Supriya Pathak tried to shield his mistakes and when Anupam Kher found him failing in his exams he asked him to leave the house and build his career.

He met Konkona Sen Sharma, who was an aspiring writer from Kolkata. She came all the way from Kolkata to Mumbai to shine in the field of journalism. She was given an opportunity by Rahul Khanna, the editor of the publication house where Konkona got a job.

Konkona met Ranbir Kapoor, became friends and took his help in finding a rented house in Mumbai. She allowed Ranbir Kapoor to stay in her house. Both of them fought together at times. Konkona told Ranbir Kapoor that he did not grow.

She introduced Ranbir Kapoor to a photo developing personality who gave him a job. Both of them worked together. Lastly Ranbir Kapoor told his father Anupam Kher about his development and his father allowed him to return back and stay in his house. Konkona was in her tears to know that Ranbir was returning back. She realized for the first time that she got attached. Ranbir also understood that he loved Konkona Sen Sharma. The story ended here.

The trouble with these films is that only a certain section of the audience has the patience to understand the off-beat subject inspite of star cast of Ranbir Kapoor. Shankar Ehsaan Loy also gave very soft music as opposed to their innovative style of music given in films like Don or Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Wake Up Sid will do average business but can get appreciation from the critics.

Review of the film Wake Up Sid.

Review of the film Wake Up Sid.

Ranbir Kapoor is seen again in the film Wake Up Sid, which is going to be released very soon. The film had been directed by Ayan Mukherjee and produced by Karan Johar. Konkona Sen Sharma acted in the film opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor played the role of a carefree college lad, who just understood about responsibilities only after his final year college exams. He interacted with his two friends Namit Das and Shikha Talsania. He hardly told about his affairs to his father Anupam Kher and mother Supriya Pathak.

On the other hand Konkona Sen Sharma played the role of a serious writer who had come all the way from Kolkata to pursue her career as a writer. She was serious, sincere and composed. Inspite of having different ways of lifestyle Konkona Sen Sharma developed a good relationship with Ranbir Kapoor.

While time flew fast in the life of Konkona who was busy with duties, it did not have much in store in case of Ranbir Kapoor. The film took turn after Ranbir Kapoor realized the sense of responsibility that should have been in him after some time.

Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma did extremely well in the film. The performances were so natural that hardly they appeared to be involved in acting. Rahul Khanna, Supriya Pathak, Anupam Kher and all the supporting actors and actresses did very well in the film.

The music composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy were not that impressive, although the song “wake up sid” had already become popular even before the release of the film. The other important songs included “life is crazy” and “aajkal zindagi”.

But the film does not have the masala with which it can turn out to be a blockbuster. It is going to do good business.

The success of Luck by Chance lies in its simplicity.

The success of Luck by Chance lies in its simplicity.
The success of the film Luck by Chance lies in its simplicity. Farhan Akhtar had shown the reality that exists in the bollywood film industry. It is not a story relating to success which is dependent on talent and hard work.

Even more than that the film showed that newcomers had to wait for opportunities and then if their luck shined they got the scope of showing their talent in the film. Konkona Sen Sharma, who struggled in her young age for getting a lead role in the contemporary film, got selected after a screen test. But later the producer and director told her that she was not required. When she said that she had acting talent she was told that it was glamour that mattered more than acting capability which was there in the winners of beauty contests and fashion world.

Farhan Akhtar was a friend of her. First Konkona dropped her photo before Rishi Kapoor for reconsideration and later told Farhan about trying his luck in the industry. Hrithik Roshan, the actor in the film asked Rishi Kapoor to skip him and give the role to a newcomer. He wanted a break. Rishi Kapoor accepted his proposition.

It was a coincidence that Farhan Akhtar met Dimple Kapadia, a leading personality in the film industry in one of the premier shows. He told Dimple Kapadia that his parents were very fond of each other and he was indebted to her because the common liking of his parents had brought them together and they got married after that. Dimple Kapadia developed a soft corner for Farhan Akhtar and when Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Sanjay Kapoor and others sat together to select the newcomer for their film, Farhan Akhtar was selected by Dimple Kapadia.

While the shooting for the film was on, Dimple Kapadia’s daughter entered into an affair with Farhan Akhtar. Farhan forgot Konkona Sen Sharma and their story was published in the print media. He even forgot the contribution of Konkona in his life and blamed her for the published. Dimple’s daughter got scolded from her mother for the entire thing.

The success of the Luck by Chance lies in the simplicity with which Farhan Akhtar has unfolded the truth in the film industry. He is the same director who had created larger than life images in the film Don where Shahrukh Khan played the lead role.

He being a director had experience in respect of real life situations in the film industry. The film can be considered a refined commercial venture with brilliant music of Shankar Ehsaan Loy and honest disclosure of reality. The film should do well.
