Katrina Kaif had remained the uncrowned queen of bollywood films of the last 5 years. Her success in big budget films one after the other had given the number one position and producers and directors had relied upon her while experimenting with various subjects.

She was brilliant and gorgeous opposite Salman Khan in the film Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, gave electrifying performance opposite Akshay Kumar in the films Namaste London, Welcome, Singh is Kinng, was sublime opposite Govinda in the film Partner and Akshay Khanna in the film Race. With her gorgeous lips in romantic songs in all these films including “teri ore teri ore”, “allah duhayi hai”, “just chill chill”, etc., youngsters had become mad about her in the last few years.

She had also replaced Aishwarya Rai in a number of advertisements and became the brand ambassador herself. Superstars in the past had accepted the fact that reaching the summit of popularity is difficult, but it is more difficult to maintain the popularity. Katrina Kaif had attained the first feat but has to maintain the stardom.

In that respect Katrina’s fate is dependent on the success of the film New York. In 2009, her film is getting released for the first time, so lot of viewers have wide expectation from the film. In the film New York, Katrina Kaif had been asked to attend the birthday party by the crew members who were shooting a film in Philadelphia. Katrina was invited along with John Abraham and Kabir Khan.

Crew members who came in one car got entry, while the car where Katrina, John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Kabir Khan came, entry was denied. Their identity was required. All of them said that they were popular artists in Indian films. But such identification did not suffice the requirement.

By the time, all the actors and actresses were successful to provide their identification, the party was over. The film was related to that subject.

Katrina Kaif looked gorgeous as ever just like other films. The viewers expect the film to be super hit, so that Katrina Kaif’s dream run continue and the bad time of bollywood during period of recession end.

New York is the upcoming film which is going to be released in June 2009. 2009 had not started with great number of hit films and for those reasons the viewers are anxious to see a hit film very soon.

New York is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra. John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Katrina Kaif and Irfan Khan are the major contributors in the film. It tells the story of three friends Katrina Kaif, Neil Mukesh and John Abraham who face untoward events and their lives are changed with those events.

Shooting for a film was done in Philadelphia and New York. FBI Helicopters and SWAT teams were used in such shooting. In January, 2009, John Abraham, Katrina Kaif and Kabir Khan were called by the crew members to attend a birthday party.

Crew members who came in one car did get entry to the night club. The others who shared the other car including Katrina Kaif, Kabir Khan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham were denied access.

The security personnel did not recognize John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Kabir Khan and demanded their identification. Neither the other crew members nor they themselves were able to satisfy the security officers about their identity. They mentioned that they were actors and actresses from India but such deliberation was not accepted.

By the time all the above-mentioned stars returned back with their identification the entire program ended. It was in the nature of a party and the party was over. The film had a unique subject and there is every possibility of success once it is released.

In the film the changes brought about by 9/11 attacks were also touched by the director. Katrina Kaif had turned everything into gold and the viewers want to keep their fingers crossed to have another successful film.

Yash Raj Banner had a very rough time last year. Katrina Kaif’s master luck and John Abraham’s muscular body can turn his luck with this film.

The brilliant locations will also add colour to the romantic presentation of the film.

The directors and producers of bollywood films hardly take any more risk of multistarrer films like that of Salaam –e –ishq anymore. It was not a two-starrer or three – starrer film but had around 6 superstars getting involved in separate love stories each.

On one hand John Abraham got involved with a muslim girl played by Vidya Balan in the film. His family members never accepted the marriage. To make matters worst Vidya Balan lost her memory in an accident and could not get back her memory. John Abraham tried everything possible but could not help her to regain any memory. Yet their relationship survived amidst odds.

Salman Khan did playacting by playing the character Rahul who was involved with an item girl Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka wanted a scandal to become famous and get a major role in Karan Johar’s film. In the process she started loving Salman Khan and at the end of the film their dramatic relationship matured into marriage. Salman Khan was sublime in giving lips in Sonu Nigam’s song “salaam- e-ishq” and “tenu le”.

On the other hand their was comedy relationship between Sohail Khan and Isha Kopikaar. They were married in a joint family and whenever they approached to come close to each other it ended up in an accident in one form or the other. Akshay Khanna also could not marry Ayesha Takia taking into consideration the liabilities of a married person. But he could not disown his weakness towards Ayesha Takia in the entire film.

Anil Kapoor got attached to a young girl which led to disharmony in his family life with his wife Juhi Chawla. His relationship with the girl was revealed to Juhi Chawla who wanted to leave him. At the last scene Anil Kapoor stopped Juhi Chawla from boarding a flight and leaving the place. Anil Kapoor was brilliant in his performance as usual.

The relationship that touched the viewers the most included Govinda’s relationship with a foreigner. The lady came to India without knowing any hindi or any local language. She was attached to an Indian person who loved her in the foreign but declined to marry her due to family restrictions.

Govinda took the girl in his taxi to the desired destination and during the travel started loving her. He tried his best to get her married to her boyfriend, but when he failed in his mission he accepted the foreigner as his own wife. The simplicity of Govinda in the role of an uneducated taxi-driver appealed to the viewers more than any other’s performance.

Salaam-e-ishq did good business in India and oversees, but the cost of production was so high that it never ended up being a blockbuster.

These days bollywood producers and directors experiment with two or three stars together in one film but not 6 actors and actresses in major roles like Salaam-e-ishq any more.

The viewers of bollywood films wish happy birthday to John Abraham on 17th December, 2008. Born in 1972, John Abraham attracted most of the producers and directors after building a manly body and appearing in many fashion contests. His dialogue throwing also had a Hollywood style more than Indian mannerisms.

John Abraham impressed the viewers with his powerful performance in the film Kaal, opposite Lara Dutta, Ajay Devgan, Vivek Oberoi, Esha Deol and others. A number of persons were killed near Corbett National Park in UP and there was a mystery relating to those deaths. People thought that man-eating tigers in the region were responsible for the deaths of those persons. But later on the truth was unfolded and it was known that Ajay Devgan was a supernatural being and he killed everyone else in the forest. John Abraham’s stylish performance and macho image worked a lot in the success of the film where the rest of the actors also did very well.

In the film Salaam-e-Ishq, he did very well opposite Vidya Balan, where the romantic pairs consisting of Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla, Govinda and a European actress, Sohail Khan and Isha Koppikar, Akshay Khanna and Ayesha Takia, did very well in their respective roles. John Abraham’s wife Vidya Balan lost her memory after she met with a railway accident.

Throughout the film John Abraham tried to recreate the memory the Vidya Balan and recollected the past experiences. The music in the film composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy became superhit. The landmark songs in the film included “tenule”, “salaam-e-ishq”, etc., to name a few.

In 2008, John Abraham acted in one of the biggest blockbusers of the year titled Dostana, where he acted in a gay role opposite Abhishek Bacchan. Priyanka Chopra played the role of the friend of the two actors John Abraham and Abhishek Bacchan. Karan Johar’s films are known for their exotic locations and melodious music.

Karan Johar did not disappoint his viewers in the film Dostana also. The beaches of Miami had attracted viewers of different ages. The songs “desi girl” and other songs became hits even before the release of the film. John Abraham’s body as exhibited in the film could have made any other actor of bollywood envious.

John Abraham within his short career had acted with all the leading actors of bollywood which even include Nana Patekar. His pair with Bipasha Basu remained a big topic of discussion few years back.

The viewers expect on the birthday of John Abraham that the macho man will even give better performance in the years to come and will be a serious threat for established actors like Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan.
