Has Salman Katrina's relationship ended?

Has Salman Katrina’s relationship ended?

Viewers wonder whether the four year relationship between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif had ended or not. Katrina Kaif in interview in 2009 had mentioned that she does not have any more relationship with Salman Khan even as a friend. Sometimes these rumours are created to add popularity in bollywood arena.

But facts and circumstances establish that the relationship had not been the same as before. Over-possessiveness of Salman Khan had been the cause of such end. Katrina Kaif found while she was shooting for the film Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, with Ranbir Kapoor, that Salman Khan over-interfered in her affairs against her liking. Just as she never interfered in other’s affairs she disliked other’s interference in her affairs. In 2009, Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani did business worth 70 crores and became a smash hit.

The relationship grew up in four five years ago and Salman Khan took the credit of introducing Katrina Kaif in Indian films. His film with Katrina Kaif, Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya also bolstered the relationship. The film helped Katrina Kaif to create her box-office popularity in the early part of her career by giving lips in impressive songs like “yeh larki loot ke man mera le gayi”, “just chill chill”, “teri meri lovestory”, etc. In 2008, their film Partner did fabulous business, and viewers started thinking that Katrina Kaif was going to marry Salman Khan. Although Katrina was cast opposite Govinda, Salman Khan was very much there in the film with his romantic role opposite Lara Dutta.

Even the failure of Yuvvraaj, at the box-office did not raise eyebrows relating to Salman –Katrina relationship. Viewers appreciated their online chemistry, as all the songs composed by the team of AR Rehman, Gulzar and Subhash Ghai became super hit. Prominent songs included “tu muskura”, “shano shano”, etc.

If the losses and gains after the end of the relationship is analyzed, everyone will agree that Katrina Kaif is hardly going to lose her stardom, as she had given hits with other actors like Akshay Kumar in Namaste London, Welcome, Singh is Kinng, etc., Akshay Khanna in Race, Govinda in Partner, to name a few. Her film Rajneeti had been released very recently opposite Ranbir Kapoor. She is young as well and has a long future ahead of her.

Salman Khan is in his 40s. He already had got a bad reputation for failing to maintain relationship due to his bad temper. But Katrina Kaif had agreed to play a cameo in Salman Khan’s film Debaang. Viewers wonder whether in that case the differences with Katrina Kaif had ended or reduced down.

Salman Khan had also not attained such age where he can switch on to character roles and leave the rat race relating to heroes. In that case his star-image would not have been affected at all. Last year had been a bad year for Salman Khan and if his instability with co-actors and actresses continue he has to see bad days in future.

There is another possibility. Producers and directors hardly cast Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif opposite each other due to flops given by them together in the past. So even if the relationship exists, the success of both the actors and actresses come opposite other co-stars.

Viewers expect both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif to act well in the films to come, ignoring the personal relationship.

Happy birthday to Subhash Ghai.

Happy birthday to Subhash Ghai.

The viewers of bollywood films wish happy birthday to Subhash Ghai on 24th January, 2010. Subhash Ghai was considered to be the second showman of bollywood films after Producer Director Raj Kapoor. Subhash Ghai had made different types of films over the last 30 years and in most of the cases the films had appealed to the masses.

His film Karz was based on story of reincarnation of Rishi Kapoor who had been killed by Simi Garewal in his previous life. He identified his mother and sister and unfolded the truth relating to the murder by Simi Garewal. Subhas Ghai was successful to motivate LP to create landmark tunes in the film with Rafi’s song “darde dil” and Kishore’s song “om shanti om” becoming landmark hits in the early 80s. Karz was remade in the recent past with Himesh Reshamiya playing the role of Rishi Kapoor. But the magic of Subhash Ghai’s Karz could not be repeated again.

His film Karma had a subject related to terrorism. Dilip Kumar was the jailor whose family was killed by the terrorist gang led by Anupam Kher. He was imprisoned in the respective jail of Dilip Kumar and took revenge by escaping from the prison and killing his family members. Anupam Kher’s performance opposite Dilip Kumar changed the shape of his career and he became landmark villain in the following years. Dilip Kumar created a force with criminals like Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Nasiruddin Shah who were facing imprisonment. They helped him in his fight against terrorism and the mission was successful.

Subhash Ghai’s film Khalnayak was based on the creation of an offender by the evil forces. Sanjay Dutt was compelled to become a criminal and joined the criminal gang. He was arrested by Jackie Shroff and he fled from the prison. Madhuri Dixit the wife of Jackie Shroff helped him to catch Sanjay Dutt at the end of the film.

Subhash Ghai also experimented with legendary actors like Dilip Kumar and Raj Kumar in the film Saudagar. He had the guts to experiment with new actor and actresses and many of them rose to stardom with the start given by Subhash Ghai. Manisha Koirala started her career with Khalnayak and later on became a successful actress of the 90s.

His other successful films include Kalicharan with Shatrughun Sinha, Yadein with Hrithik Roshan, Hero with Jackie Shroff, Taal with Anil Kapoor. Very significantly the music in the films of Subhash Ghai had been extremely successful and LP had played an important role in composing music for his films. Last year Subhash Ghai made Yuvvraaj with Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anil Kapoor. The film did not do great business but the music composed by AR Rehman stole the hearts of the audience. All the songs became super hit including “tu muskura”, “shano shano”, etc. The viewers expect him to continue the good work and create better films in future.

Review of the film Yuvvraaj

Review of the film Yuvvraaj.

Yuvvraaj
Showman Subhash Ghai had always experimented with new and fresh subjects all along his career and viewers have a lot of questions about his new venture titled Yuvraaj. Subhash Ghai’s films in the last few have not done as well as his films in the 80s and 90s like Karz, Karma, Saudagar, Taal, etc. So he himself is also looking forward to Yuvvraaj to bring him back to the limelight.

Yuvvraaj
The film is related to the story of a fragmented family including Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan who had been shown to be engaged in different types of games which are designed to inherit the property of their father. Everyone of them wanted to be rockstar and never cared about the fact whether they possessed the requisite skills to fulfill the goals.

Yuvvraaj
Before the release of the film, the music of the film had been promoted by Subhash Ghai as usual. For the first time Subhash Ghai had worked with Gulzar and AR Rehman who had created their recognition a long time ago. Each and every song in the film had meaningful composition, realistic picturisation and adequate lyrics.
Yuvvraaj
The main songs in the film include “tu meri dost hai” sung by Benny Dayal, Shreya Ghoshal and AR Rehman, “shanno shanno” sung by Sonu Nigam, Srinivas and others, “tu muskura” sung by Alka Yagnik and Javed Ali, “mastam mastam” sung by Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik , Benny Dayal and others, “zindagi” sung by Srinivas, “dil ka rishta” sung by Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar Rathod, AR Rehman and others and “manmohiny morey” sung by Vijay Prakash and few other songs.

The songs had soft, sweet, romantic passion embedded in them and the strong lips by Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in most of them had created added attraction for the viewers. Whether or not the film ultimately becomes successful, there is no shadow of doubt that the music is going to create lasting impact in the minds of the viewers and listeners.

The other interesting part of the film involves the romantic relationship of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the film. There had been lot of rumour about the romantic relationship between the two stars which never ended in marriage and had always been a subject of controversy. Last year when Abhishek Bacchan and Aishwarya Rai acted together in the film Guru, the stories relating to their engagement became public and that helped in the additional viewership of the film as they got married together.

Even if such a thing does not happen, there is lot of interest amongst the viewers about the onscreen chemistry of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif who featured together in Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya and Partner before. Katrina Kaif had a dream run in the last two years with success in films ranging from Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya to Namaste London, to Welcome, to Partner, to Race, to Singh is Kinng and now Yuvvraaj. If Yuvraaj fails it will be the first failure of Katrina Kaif in the last two years.

Yuvvraaj
So taking the star cast into consideration, the strong music composed by AR Rehman and Gulzar, the romantic picturisation of songs by Subhash Ghai, it is expected that the film is going to bring smiles in the face of the distributors and benefit the bollywood industry with one of the greatest hits of the year. Let us hope for the best.
