Sizzling actress Mamta Mohandas is the new face of Malayalam cinema of the present period. She was born in Bahrain. She studied in Indian School Bahrain till 2002.

She started her career in 2005 Malayalam film Mayookhan which was directed by Hariharan. She rose to stardom by acting opposite Manmootty in the film Bus Conductor, Suresh Gopi in the film Abhutham and Lanka. By 2006, she became the leading actress of Malayalam cinema.

Consequently she acted opposite Jayaram in the film Madhuchandralekha. Her film Baba Kalyani opposite Malayalam superstar Mohanlal became super hit. In 2007, she acted opposite Manmootty in the super hit film Big B.

In 2008, she stole attention in super hit Kannada film Gooli. She also acted opposite Tamil superstar Rajinikanth in the film Kuselan. In 2009, she acted successful films Guru En Aalu and Passenger. Both the films did good business.

In 2010, she is busy with the films Sathyan Anthikad’s Katha Thudarunnu, Musafir and Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram. She is acting opposite stars like Jayaram, Prithviraj and Rahman. She also showed her talent in singing carnatic and Hindustani classical songs in different films. She had lend her voice in the Telegu film Rakhee. Bollywood industry is yet to see her talent in hindi films.

She had been suffering from Cancer for some period of time. She even had to cut off part of her hair. Yet she had maintained her hairstyle. Through her own activities she had proved that she had been a great fighter.

In 2011, Mamta Mohandas has a lot to cheer about. She had acted in the film Karailekku Oru Kadal Dorram in the role of the character Gaadha. She is presently acting in the role of Anu in the film Musafir. There is lot of expectation from this Malayalam film. The other film where she is playing the lead role includes Race where she is playing the role of Niya. The viewers expect her to continue her dream run in both singing and acting in South Indian cinema and also hindi cinema.
